First Sergeant Avshalom Yair Peretz
was killed in action. He was 27 years old and served in the Yamam unit for two years.
He was operator on a reconnaissance team. His main task within the team was to carry the ballistic shield forward. Avshalom was an amazing man, smiling and handsome, with a modesty that shrouded him in a unique aura.
Avshalom was KIA on October 7, 2023, while fighting in the battles at Sha’ar Hanegev Junction.
He was buried in the military section of the Netivot cemetery. He left behind his parents and two sisters.
